Full Tour Description

Duration: 3.5 – 4 hours + training

Distance: approx. 22 km / 17 miles. We use Pedelec bicycles where a small electric motor makes it easier to pedal

All our Budapest E-Bike Tours start with a quick introduction to the e-bikes and the city’s rules on bike safety and riding. Everyone is taught how to use the e-bike practice on them until they feel comfortable.

On the Budapest E-Bike Tour, you’ll see many major sights, and all with the wind in your hair! Along the way, your informative local guide will share with you information, tales, legends along with answering all your questions.

Off From the Opera House

We’ll start the Budapest E-Bike Tour in front of the office behind the Opera House. Then we’ll travel up the tree lined Andrassy Avenue which is known as the Hungarian Champs-Élysées. Our first stop is Heroe’s Square and this is also where your guide will introduce you to Budapest’s rich history.

Then it’s time to visit the lush green City Park and Vajdahunyad Castle. This was built in 1896 to celebrate the  Millennial Exhibition and copies various buildings from different periods of Hungarian history.

We’ll then return to the center of town, traveling past St Stephen’s Basilica and Freedom Square before arriving at the Parliament building, Hungary’s most iconic building.

Next, we’ll cross Margit Bridge and ride onto Margit Island. this is essentially a huge green park in the middle of the river and in the middle of the city.  It’s time to relax in the sun and chat with your guide about all things Hungarian.

Back on the bridge, our Budapest E-Bike Tours takes us back cross the river so we can enjoy the sights of Buda’s.  And it’s a great opportunity for photos as we get a fantastic view of Pest. Cycling on to Batthyany Square, we’ll also make a refreshment stop around for coffee and cake break.

Buda Castle

Re-energized, we’ll make our way up the winding road into the Buda Castle District. Thankfully our e-bikes take the strain of that uphill journey. Once at the top we’re rewarded with magnificent panoramic views of the entire city. Cameras ready again! The narrow, cobblestone streets of Buda exude a charming ambiance and it’s a wonderful place for a quiet stroll. Furthermore there are also plenty of sights to see, including the Matthias Church and the Fisherman’s Bastion.

Finally, as the Budapest E-Bike Tour enters the final leg, and we make our way back across the Danube to the Pest crossing the spectacular Gellert Bridge. Along the way, we’ll travel past the Great Market Hall, then enjoy a relaxing ride on the bank the Danube, before finishing our tour back where we started.

Our Budapest E-Bike Tour runs with small groups and generally do not have more than 15 participants. This makes them interactive and personal and gives you plenty of chances to ask questions and get to know your guide. You can also hit them up for local tips on where to go and what else to do.

We reserve the right to alter and change the tour program without prior notice due to construction, city closures for events, festivals and so on throughout the year.
