Innovative Web Design Trends for 2022
On April 6, 2022 by MicarahWeb design is an important factor in making a website appealing. Web design means making the site visually appealing but also attractive from a content standpoint. The content matters as much as the design does. Focusing on one and neglecting the other will make a site look terrible in either way.
Trends come and go and some trends can be used to your advantage. 2022 is upon us and like every year, it has some trends, especially for web design. Here are some interesting ones to take note of.
Telling a Story
People seem to love sites that get in your way and make you scroll through pictures which load way too slowly. This is known as scrollytelling and it is one of the most popular things about web design.

2022 is not the first year we have seen this, but it somehow manages to come back and become trendy.
Make sure not to make the site too bloated with humongous images. You actually want your visitors to scroll through the site and read a story, not wait for the images to load before they can scroll. Make the scroll without too much of a fancy animation, so as not to waste time or resources.
Nostalgic Designs
People like designs which seem nostalgic, reminding them of better times, or in this case, times before a global pandemic. Use things which appear to be nostalgic, like color filters that date back to the 1980s. Give everything an analog feeling.
You can scan the images or make everything seem like it was scanned. Experiment with the design, but do it in a way that matches your site’s goal and target audience. Going too far off topic to include a design which doesn’t fit can only backfire.
Not Symmetric or Off Grid

People like seeing symmetry, however, symmetry can also be too perfect at times. We are used to an imperfect world where almost nothing is far too symmetric. Make sure that you move some elements off center or off grid. Designers use a grid all the time to center and position elements so that they are perfectly centered.
Purposely placing elements off grid will emphasize them more. Pay attention which elements you emphasize and that they don’t end up looking out of place rather than hip.
Visible Border
Grid lines were mentioned above, and they are used when designing a site. Nowadays, they are making a comeback as visible borders. This helps the site get a more organized look, which users love. As soon as you spot borders and lines, you are more likely to compartmentalize the site and divide it into useful or non-useful segments.
Web design trends come and go. 2022 is upon us and these are the web design trends to consider implementing on your site.
