Tips for Improving Your Website’s Design
On October 3, 2022 by MicarahWe are in a world where people open a site and in seconds, judge whether a site is good enough for them or is something they should stay away from. Sites attract people mostly through their visuals. It is by focusing on your site’s design that you will attract more visitors, or rather, get them to stay long enough to look at your content.
Websites can be made better through simple design tips. Here are some tips that should make your sites get more visitors.
Planning Ahead

If you already have a site, then you might want to start planning ahead. Walk through the site as a customer would. See the things that could use improvements and note them. Try and see what you could change to give the site more accessibility or a better overall visual.
Going through a site does not need to be a nuisance and everybody should be able to navigate it almost intuitively. See it through the eyes of a customer and not a stubborn person who wants to do everything the hard way.
Distractions are Bad
A site should be flashing images and pop ups in your face. Javascript pop ups that darken most of the page until you close them are the bane of everybody’s existence. Please forget about those. Clicking the X button has never been so satisfying.
Remove distractions and let the visitor navigate through your site as naturally as possible. Sure, you can entice them with some images and animations here and there, but do not use too many, they can be distracting in more ways than one.
Remove Overhead and Flashy Images

Now we come to the software optimization side of things. Too many animations and flashy images may become too much for the customer to load. Not everybody has fast internet access or wants to wait for a site to load. The shorter the load time, the better. Overloading the server with needless content is also a sign of bad design and optimization. You want your site to load as fast as possible and to display content immediately.
Proof – Testimonials
Most people like to see a site that’s connected to social media. Whether that is Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, people want a site that is connected and staying with the times. Social media is important in advertising and showing that you care enough to leave your customers’ reviews means that you are not hiding the good or the bad. There will always be bad reviews.
Encourage Visitors
Calls to action are really important and adding some to your pages, whether through visual elements or text, will help give visitors that push to actually contact you. Whether that converts into business is another thing, but a call to action should be present and clearly visible to all visitors.
Website design can make a website great or turn it into a horror show. With these tips, you can make sure that your site will be on top of things.
